There’s nothing like it.
I have things pretty organized – I can set the keys and projector up within a few minutes – having labelled the cables ahead of time and bundled them so that it’s easy
to match.
The only downside is that I cannot deviate from the backing track I’ve got projected.
It’s interesting to watch a crowd wonder what the hell is going on with the keys and then the saxophones on stands. Then the video starts and they’re even more confused.
Especially since all the songs run together so they’ve no idea when or if to clap.
But it’s cool watching the crowd go from “what the fuck is THIS shit” to “what the fuck IS this shit?” – from “I’d no idea what to expect” to “what a neat idea”.
So yeah – if you’re a venue or want an act like mine for an evening, drop me a line. We’ll make it work. All I really need is a darkened room and power. Or if you have a PA,
I can just give you stereo out.
